Final Thoughts

Hunter S. Thompsonn can be described as a very wise man and laways "high on life," enjoying the crazy ride. He truly knows how to keep the attention of his readers , and that is a problem with many writers today not knowing how to keep the attention of young readers. He wasn't scared to put his thoughts on paper and fear what readers would think. He was a straight forward man, and had a unique spark to his writing. Hunter S. Thompson is the king of the fascinating "Gonzo Journalism." This new style of journalism has opened many doors for young writers today. Through his dialogue and writing style , it is very easy for us young readers to picture us as if we were there with him. His dialogue helps us to get the the bigger picture. In" Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" they are traveling to find the American Dream something we all look for . He tells his readers all about his trip on drugs on the way up to Las Vegas. When Hunter passed away everyone was devstated but this was stated " all have spoken of him as the inventor, and ultimate practitioner, of Gonzo journalism, that compelling and outrageous amalgam of reportage and literature, held together by an intoxicating emulsion of drink, drugs and sexual excess. "(BBC News ) Hunter S. Thompson eneded up commiting suicide and in a recent book published on the life of Thompson Jann S. Wenner states “I never had any doubt that at some point he was going to commit suicide,”(Weinner 488). Most saw the suicide coming but were in denial

His style of writing was different from the rest. He was a man of many ideas and words. Hunter S. Thompson once said "If I'd written all the truth I knew for the past ten years, about 600 people - including me - would be rotting in prison cells from Rio to Seattle today. Absolute truth is a very rare and dangerous commodity in the context of professional journalism."(Thompson,1) .

Sulloway Critique.

My favorite author thus far into the semster would be Frank J. Sullivan, I enjoyed his writting and found it to be very interesting. He was a very funny interesting author , who had my eyes glued to the paper and kept me hanging onto each and every word, wanting to read more. I enjoyed Birth Order and Sibling Competition in which I found interesting when he states " although siblings share half their genes and exhibit similarities in personality based on this shared genetic basis, most parents are struck by how different siblings actually are."(Sulloway 299). He bought out alot of key ponts about siblings and the differences among them. He focused son each birth order individually. Sulloway usues a widespread variety of vocabulary, and alot of fun fulfulling facts

Birth Order and Sibling Competition

Throughout this semester we have read a selection of non fiction. Out of all the non fiction readings my personal favorite was the one we did on October 6 entitled "Birth Order and Sibling Competition." I found this one to be very interesting. I kept wanting to read more and more , and for once i wasn't being put to sleep. Frank J. Sulloway style of writing was an easy read. He points out all the differences among birth order and what distinguishes each. Sulloway make sit clear that birth order can explain a lot about one self. He helps in explaining why siblings are so different. I'm a middle child in my family , and some things he said about being a middle child I disagree on. He talks about middle children being agreeable but thats so definitely not true in my case. I am a very difficult child to please, and i always have a different opinion. I am not easy to get along with. i'm very rebelious and different from my older sister and younger brother. I do agree that middleborns are different from siblings. Frank J. Sulloway really made some oustanding points throughout his writing."Sibling competion is widespread in the natural world, and sometimes ends in siblicide."

summer coming to an end.

Summer has always been my favorite season.I love the summertime and always being at the beach . In August my two best friends and I went on vaation to Miami, it was a good time. With summer coming to an end i look back on all the great memories and new people i have met. I am definitely not a big fan of fall or winter time. I hate when the leaves are everywhere covering the sidewalks and streets. I skeeve squirrels and there acorns , always scared I am going to get hit with one. I dont like when it gets darker out earlier in the evening, i tend to feel tired and lazy.

I'm already couting down the days till Summer 2009 :)
